We love the waters edge: the frogs jumping away from our feet, goldfish splashing in the reeds on a cool summer's morning, minnows crowding the shallows, our swans "Steaming up" to challenge us entering their territory...

So we constructed a mile or so of waters edge over the last ten years:

A dozen ponds and waterways, all interconnected: one flowing into the next. It is exciting to follow nature as it develops in and around our ponds and surrounding wetlands. Although most plants and animals species "just show up" many were introduced by us; especially cultivars of irises, waterlilies and spireas just to name a few.
